Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Messy app. By downloading or using Messy, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ChelsKat LLC ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Messy mobile application and all related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 17 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Messy is a subscription-based mobile application that provides access to AI-generated drama and betrayal stories. New stories are added regularly. The app includes personalized reading feeds, reading streak tracking, and community comment features.

Access to the full story library requires an active paid subscription. Features, content, and pricing may change over time with reasonable notice.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Subscription Plans

Messy offers the following subscription options:

  • Monthly Plan — $9.99 per month. Charged immediately. No free trial. Cancel anytime.
  • Annual Plan — $59.99 per year. Includes a 3-day free trial. After the trial, $59.99 is charged annually. Cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid charges.

Billing

All subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. Your Apple ID account will be charged at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Free Trial

The 3-day free trial is available on the Annual Plan for new subscribers only. If you have previously subscribed to Messy, you are not eligible for the free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Messy. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods.

Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple. Contact Apple Support at apple.com/support to request a refund. We do not process refunds directly.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Account

You may use Messy with Sign In with Apple or Sign In with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You may not share your account with others or use another person's account without their permission. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we believe are being shared or misused.

5. Content

Our Content

All stories in Messy are original fiction generated by artificial intelligence and edited for quality. They are not based on real people or real events. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

All stories, imagery, and other content in the app are owned by ChelsKat LLC and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Mature Content

Messy contains mature themes including infidelity, betrayal, relationship drama, and some stories contain sexual content. The app is rated 17+ and is not suitable for users under 17.

User Generated Content

You may post comments on stories. By posting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and moderate that content within the app. You are solely responsible for your comments.

You agree not to post comments that are:

  • Harassing, threatening, or abusive toward other users
  • Defamatory, obscene, or offensive
  • Spam or commercial solicitations
  • In violation of any applicable law
  • Impersonating another person or entity

We reserve the right to remove any comment and suspend or terminate any account that violates these standards.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Use automated means to access or scrape content from the app
  • Circumvent any access controls or subscription requirements

7. Intellectual Property

Messy and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by ChelsKat LLC and are protected by United States and international intellectual property laws. The Messy name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of ChelsKat LLC.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary information without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content in the app. All stories are fiction and should not be relied upon as factual accounts.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHELSKAT LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in California.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the Profile section of the app.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
